Bible Verse Bookends

When Elizabeth was born, the verse that day on my calendar was, "From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another." It seemed the like the perfect verse for this peaceful, joyful little girl. This week in my Bible study we are discussing praying verses over our kids so I thought it quite providential then that Monday's verse, the verse for Elizabeth's birthday, would be Daniel 2:23:
"I thank and praise You, O God of my fathers;
You have given me wisdom and power,
You have made known to me what we ask of You,
You have made know to us the dream of the king."
Oh, to pray this for Elizabeth! That she might have the wisdom and power that comes from God? That she might be righteous enough in God's eyes to discern His voice? What dream come true!
I studied Daniel the first summer JT was alive and was really struck with how Daniel's parents must have given him a strong sense of who God is and who he can be through God's power. There is such a drive in me to do the same for my kids, however at the end of the day, it has to be their choice. So while it will ultimately be their choice to call God Lord and Savior of their life, you better believe I am praying for protection over their life, for a deep fear of the Lord (The Bible says over and over, how is this is only way to true wisdom), and for salvation for their souls.
May Elizabeth some day able to say this same praise Daniel said back to God. May she see how God has had a hand on her whole life from before she was born and right up until the time she will finally go back home to God.
